I did attend Polytechnic full time for four years and studied art and painting and this was a brilliant time for me, being with like-minded folk and was a great spiritual experience that helped in my own healing journey.
One thing that inspired me there was sculpturing stone, Oamaru stone and greenstone as well as wood, and since then have continued on with this and have my own little studio room where I can do my art and 3D work which I enjoy doing and am grateful that I can do.
I love to work in greenstone, wood and Oamaru stone, and metal. I have had works at the local galleries and have had two solo exhibitions, in 2009 and 2012.
I also create mixed media work and love to add inks and paints with my wood cut paintings to bring them to life. I encourage anyone to explore their artistic side.
